Nature’s ice art in Cromwell

These two images were taken at the lake edge  at Cromwell’s old town, Cromwell, on Saturday.

The four year old girl is Wendy Haythornthwaite, my granddaughter.

One image shows Wendy focusing on a ‘slice’ of broken sheet ice that had formed by the lake edge

In the other Wendy is rather capitivated by discovering ‘nature’s ice art’ which was created as the freezing water collected the various berries, leaves and grasses that had accumulated at the ‘shore’ line.
